Focus on the Bass

God has blessed Dan with a smooth bass voice, excellent pitch and an extended vocal range - he can sing em' high or low. Raised in a Christian family that loved music and accepting Christ as savior at a young age, he started singing in Church when he was nine years old. Several years later his dad pulled together a quartet with Dan's two sisters, singing alto and tenor, his dad singing the lead, and you guessed it, Dan singing bass. The Fields Family sang together for over twelve years, serving the Lord through song and testimony. Dan's father and mother led the family to two record albums, singing Gospel music everywhere from Tennessee to Pennsylvania, and still managed to hold down full time jobs. Boy! Talk about hectic weekends; they were on the go!

In high school, Dan played the trumpet in every band available, acted in the senior play, and sang in the Glee Club. Over the years he has used his vocal gift of Praise to the Lord by taking advantage of opportunities God has placed before him, to spread the Love of Christ.

Here are some other tidbits about the "low-down" singer in the Oak Grove Quartet. Sounds like an old western movie, doesn't it? Well, Dan does wear boots and he is well over twenty years old...I guess it fits then

Best Advice: "Whatever gift God has given you, don't hesitate, use it. If you feel God calling you to do something, do it. The saddest thing in heaven would be if God opens the door and shows you all the blessings you could have had, if you had done what he asked." Amen!
